Tasted bitter. Not in a good way. ugh. Never again. It even came back up the drain when I poured it out. Hated it. Reluctant to give it even a 1. lamas (718), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 23, 2005 Bottle. A cloudy amber with tons of pepper-looking floaties and a small, fizzy light-tan head. Light melony aroma with some hops and malty sweetness. Delightfully tangy and spicy hoppiness with a solid sweet body underneath. A harsh grainy taste up front. Some airy perfumed qualities. Finish is slightly dry. VERY crisp. Carbonation level is too high. Medium to thin body. Decent. thehinge (244), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2005 Bottle. Very floral aroma to it. Clear honey colored pour with an ample white head....a little lacing. I just had this for a second time and detect a little clove in the front end....as well as citrus hints. A little thin on the hops, but the front end makes up for it in my mind. Good....it might appeal to Belgian lovers more than APA lovers, though. hopdog (5590), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 8, 2005 Bottle acquired in trade with atpayne (thanks!). Poured a medium and hazy golden color with an averaged sized off white head. Lots of small floaters. Stronger floral aroma with light citrus in the background. Tastes of lemons and flowers with a very light sweetness to it. Body a little on the thin side. Drinkable but nothing special really stood out. Erdrick (21), Japan
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 7, 2005 I have made my own dry hopped brew. Mine turned out better than this. Even so, this is a decent beer with a great body. I believe that body is the most important characteristic to a beer. The Holy Grail of bodys is Samuel Smith’s Oatmeal Stout (at least in my opinion anyway). Back to Founder’s Pale Ale... It tastes great, although the aftertaste is somewhat off. The color is great and you can tell that they thought about what they were doing when they made it. I would still favor their Centennial... fly (1332), austin, Tejas, USA

Midwest stylee? props to the hops, if not as pronounced as Californicated ales (what’s a Michigan accent like? I know my bro lives there, but he just sheds his accents). Nice one. again, thanks Drew
