jstraw (468), Oak Park, Illinois, USA May 12, 2008 Updated: May 14, 2008 Hazy orange with decent off-white head / Nose of citrus and dry pine / Light to medium body with mellow fruit and hops, and good, creamy, slightly bitter finish / Flavors of grapefruit, orange, bread, and dry pine / A mellow but very elegant pale ale.
durhambeer (527), Durham, USA Oct 7, 2008 Light orange, nearly golden clear pour with pretty might white thin head. Grassy, grainy, and slightly floral. A bit skunky. Bit of hops. Refreshing, but not as hoppy as many American pale ales, and really not overly impressive to me. LilBeerDoctor (627), East Setauket, New York, USA Oct 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear light orange with a small, foamy white head. Aroma of sweet malt and citrusy hops. Flavor of nice sweet floral hops with a mild citrusy finish. Nice and refreshing. Tasty beer! JCB (1061), Durham, North Carolina, USA Oct 7, 2008 12oz from Sam’s, Durham. Pale cloudy golden pour, with a modest head and carbonation. The nose is lightly hoppy, with a hint of dry flowers. Very assertive malt presence, sweet and caramel (just a hint bready at times), and I found that there’s a bit too much, not quite balanced enough with the light citrus hops. The citrus flavors are there in the finish, but the body’s also a touch thin, making it a slightly watery ending. Solid, but not up to par with Centennial. Bigsilky (228), Boone, North Carolina, USA Oct 7, 2008 Nice, a pale ale that is in fact pale. Refreshing a drinkable. Non-intrusive hope nose, balanced and fresh. Some breadiness not much carmalization. Clean finish. bretupdegraff (96), Fishers, Indiana, USA Sep 27, 2008 poured golden orange yet hazy with sediments in the glass. Nice firm by small head that disapeared quickly. Aroma was sweet/citrusy and hoppy. Taste is similar. VEry drinkable. I really enjoyed this great brew from Founders.
