Whiffs of roasted coffee and chocolate invite a sip which confirms my nostrils’ findings. While the malts dominate, the hops keep it balanced and enjoyable. xmarcnolanx (800), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2009 Aroma is chocolate, a touch of smoke, dark malts, cocoa, and sugar.
Appearance is rich mahogany with no real head to speak of.
Taste is thin chocolate, some maltiness, sourness, and smoke (also umami).
Finish is sweet and smooth. Very faint hop presence.

Aroma of coffee and cinnamon. Taste is smokey, roasted coffee, dusty, sweet fruits. Medium body that’s very nice. Most porters I have had are usually really thin. Overall very good porter, one of the best I’ve had. MereLikesBeer (155), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 21, 2009 I had this at Bar Louie in Novi with BeerBaron617 the other night. It was from a pretty fresh keg, so it was especially tasty. I am slowly growing in to porters and stouts, and this one proves to make the grade for me at this time.
A great black pour with a medium tan head that leaves quickly. It’s got a great aroma of chocolate and coffee, typical of porters, and the nose translated to the taste. Very great body/mouth feel, not too thick, not too thin, just right. It’s got a great flavor. buzzoven (333), Japan
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 20, 2009 Had this at the Pinhook, Durham, NC. Very roasted taste and aroma. Flavour held many classic Porter elements in place and conducted it’s execution on my tastebuds in style. SHANER4 (383), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
