| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Thin dark brown head of very fine bubbles. Reduces quickly. Rick dark chocolate aroma with some mild coffee, toffee and some raisins. Color is essentially black. Medium bodied with a bit of zippy carbonation. Solid dark chocolate bitterness along with burnt toast and some carbon. Coffee flavors are more prominent. Light alcohol flavor. Lingering bitter coffee and somewhat dry at the finish. A pretty good and strong flavored porter. LtDan (522), Los Angeles County, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Appearance: Pours a dark brown with little to no head.
Aroma: Strong aromas of espresso, roast malts, and chocolate. There are spicy hop notes, that blend with the carbonation level. Either way, there is a nice spicy tickle on the tongue after the roastiness makes way for the finish.
Taste: A bitter espresso coffee flavor starts it off. It finishes with chocolate and burnt malts.
Mouthfeel: Very fizzy on the tongue. Much more full than Breakfast Stout. The flavors linger long after the sip.
Overall: A top notch porter, with tons of flavor, and a unique mouthfeel.
