| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 5, 2009 Darker brown color with a medium tan head. Aroma is big and roasty with a heavy dose of coffee, dark chocolate, and even wood. Flavor is big on the roast with dark chocolates, dark coffee, and even some vinous fruit. Finishes very nice and has a mild hoppiness at the end. Very nice mouthfeel. For a standard porter, this is nothing short of incredible. Juelze (906), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 4, 2009 2008 Bottle - Thanks tjtjresh - Pours a medium consistency dark brown with a malty brown head...aroma is suprisingly hoppy, chocolate, vanilla...flavour is an explosion, smokey on the front, yielding to bitter charred wood and a massive creamy bourbon barrel like finish...never had a porter like this, smooth with very fine carbonation, damn that was good... theisti (1681), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 4, 2009 12 oz bottle generously sent to me by tjthresh. Pour is deep brown, blocks the light. Nice one inch off white head that falls fast. Only small amounts of lacing are left behind. Aroma of milk chocolate, chalky-roasty malt. Some tobacco leafs. Really engaging nose, nice. Taste is lactic milk chocolate and roastiness. Some bright bitter pine hoppiness to the finish. Palate is silky, smooth chalky, dry and nice. Overall this was a nice one, though the pine hops over played the soft roastiness a bit in the taste for me. Thanks for sending this my way, Tom. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 3, 2009 pitch black pour with a finger sized cocoa brown head. Aroma is Toffee, coffee, heavily roasted malt, and a bit of cocoa. Flavor is chocolate, caramel, coffee, cream. Finishes pretty bitter, lots of burnt roastiness and rich creamy sweetness to back it up. This has perfect carbonation for that sweet/bitter thing it has going on. I’m pretty torn on this one. I can’t see why it is rated at a 4, yet I have it at a 3.9 and feel my score isn’t bloated. Odd. Petrucci914 (586), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
