bigtaster (116), Grand Rapids, USA Jun 5, 2008 12 oz bottle in flute. Great light red, pink clear color and soft white head, looks almost like a white zinfandel. Strong fruity aroma, with some tartness reminding me of a lambic. light bodied, yeasty, sweet, but some dry tartness to balance it. Actually tastes like raspberry’s. A little on the low side of the flavor profile, just not enough, something completely different and good.
thickfreakness (95), Austin, Texas, USA Oct 5, 2008 5/11/08. This beer pours a beautiful ruby red with a pinkish white head. It smells very strongly yet also very pleasantly of sweet raspberries. The taste is just extremely strong of raspberries and sweet malts. No real hops to speak of. A very bubbly mouthfeel almost champagne like and its very drinkable for a fruit beer. This is one of my favorite regular fruit beers to date. jcurtis55 (15), Plainfield, Indiana, USA Oct 1, 2008 Aroma is definitely raspberries, but the taste came across as a nice balance of raspberries and malt. I did not find this to be too syrupy at all although there is more than a hint of the berries in the taste. Still, finishes somewhat dry and tart. Excellent fruit beer. WakeandBake (85), Greenville, Michigan, USA Sep 26, 2008 Bottle.A dark pink color with a light pink head. Aroma is raspberries. The taste is as promised of raspberries and some malt, very tart, light and crisp. Very Drinkable Beerlando (1339), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 17, 2008 Pours a clear cranberry juice color with a small, quick, pinkish-white head. The foam settles to a wispy film, while minimal, soapy spotting mostly rejoins the body. The aroma is sweet and fruity, as expected, with massive raspberry and a hint of blueberry exploding on the nose. The big and syrupy fruit tends to drown everything else out. Flavors are basically the same. Overly sweet, sugary, syrupy raspberry crushes everything in its path, only a faint floral hoppiness and an annoying, medicinal menthol note surviving the assault. Medium-full on the palate, lightly carbonated, and sticky, this can only be consumed in very small doses. Not really my cup of tea, but decently made nonetheless. noncaloric (100), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 13, 2008 Summary: The raspberry elements are quite appealing to the eye and nose, but less so to the tongue. Drinks tart and dry. Aroma: Fresh raspberries, lightly yeasty. Appearance: Pink liquid, hazy with a red sediment. A thin white head leaves a streaky lacing on the glass. Flavor: Not so much distinctly raspberry as generally tart. Caramel malts at the beginning round out the flavor. Finishes husky, whole grains, with citrus tart. Palate: Begins juicy, smooth, but once the carbonation breaks, becomes quite dry, like brut champagne.
