| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2009 Color is golden yellow and red. Aroma is of citrus hops and caramel malts. Taste is initially sweet and fruity, aftertaste is bitter and dry. Medium body, overall lingering bitter and dryness makes it hard for me to truly appreciate as it isn’t my style. Very good beer, but I’d rather take sweet and fruity than bitter and dry. gunhaver (1025), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2009 Bottle, courtesy someone. Candy apple red pour, thick creamy white head, tons of wet sheets of lacing. Big tropical fruits in the nose, some rye and chocolate, biscuit. Pleasant but subdued. Spicy rye flavors, dry biscuit and grain, hops present throughout, some caramel in the finish, and a tad bit metallic. Medium-bodied, carbonated well, drinkable but slightly inhibited by the rye. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 24, 2009 12oz bottle. Was this worth sitting in an extra hour of LA traffic to get? Definitely. Dark red-brown with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel malts, rye, and spicy hops. The flavor has rich and spicy malts with a nice spicy and floral hop balance leading to a medium-bitter finish and some light lingering sweetness. A robust and flavorful ale with complex and interesting flavors. This is just what I needed after a slew of west coast IPAs in the last few days. LiebeBier (791), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 22, 2009 Bottle - I could smell the hop aroma as I poured this beauty. It’s really a terrific aroma. Reddish color with a nice tan head. The flavor is very good, perhaps a tad too spicy with a great balance of rich malt flavors and sweet hops. HighGravity (890), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 19, 2009 This one certainly lives up to hype. Essentially what we have have here is a darkish/red IPA that is nice and dry especially on the finish. Those that like dry, bitter, and aromatic IPAs will love this beer. One of the best hop bouquets that I have encountered in a while. BroSpud (594), , Massachusetts, USA

Very unique taste to this one. Definitely taste the rye. Well done. boFNjackson (1262), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2009 Bottle... Poured cloudy, reddish/amber with a thin, white head. Spiced aroma with ginger and warm, bready, grain notes. Full palate with big fruity flavors -- almost like berries -- with some hops and malts. Sweet candy finish almost like honey.
