Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Draught at Woodys in downtown raleigh. Pours red/tan with a frothy off-white head. Has a stong hop aroma of citrus and pine, and some grains. Flavor is quite malty, very dry, with a strong hop presence. Nice beer.

Pours an explosive head with a nice floral hop aroma. The color is a cloudy red with thick white head. The flavor is full of bitter hops and rye malt and a nice blend of honey and lemon spice. It is a very spicy brew with tons of flavor and rye malt that explodes on your palate. The hops also leave a nice bite on the sides of your mouth. Overall it is a great brew with a good palate and well carbonated.

12 oz bottle. A nice mellow and airy nose with grainy rye bread, flowery and leafy hops, and some light lemon. This is also a highly attractive beer with a pour of bubbly yet soft beige head, with quality retention and lacing, very cloudy yet not overly thick looking, and crimson red in color as described by founders. I also agree with the description that this beer is well balanced, but even though 4 different caramel malts were used, i dont get a ton of caramel in the flavor, as the sweetness to me is more of a dark berry with multigrain bread malt and a great earthy, floral bitterness that does indeed lead to a spicy crisp finish. Well described by the brewers, this is a very enjoyable and easy to drink to beer.

Pours medium, brownish red with a thin but dense and persistent beige head, look alot like a good spiced apple cider. Aroma is rye, caramel, sweet tea, and some fantastic, herbal, citrus, and floral hops. Flavor is really interesting, and difficult to explain. Rye is present but not too strong. There is an earthy sweetness almost like maple sap (fresh from the tree) that is pretty unique, plenty of rich-yet not overly sweet caramel. Somewhere in there a pretty nice floral and pine hop punch comes in and starts a party. Finish is a bit of toffee, citrus and bitter hops. Aftertaste is a little bready and citric.

Bottle from ucusty I believe. Poured a deep red-amber color with a thick, dense off-white head that slowly diminished to a thick layer and left nice lacing. Aroma of light rye bread, a hint of ice tea, a tinge of caramel, and some earthy, floral hops. A dry, crisp entry greets the tongue as the flavor quickly transitions into an earthy, floral hoppiness with some soft pine dryness and undertones of rye malt with a nice breadiness. Ends with a moderate dryness. Moderate carbonation and solid mouthfeel. I enjoyed this more than I anticipated, the last rye pale ale I tried was not a favorite.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy reddish amber with a sizeable off white head with great retention and decent lacing. Aromas of hops, pine, and grains. Flavors is hops, pine, and a bit of rye, nice malt undertones. This one is definitely heavier on the hops, and I was expecting a more balanced beer, regardless it was a very drinkable brew.
