Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

not much head aand lacing, pours medium brown to red, very citrusy nose, heavy rye tang at first taste with the hop bitterness settling in as you drink, modest roast flavor is overwhelmed by the citrus hops.

[1587-20080816] 355mL bottle. Grainy hoppy malt aroma has a hint of fruit. Hazy, brown amber body with quick bubbles. Fresh grainy hops flavour has a rye-like booziness. Medium body. Seems simple.

2008-08-16. Murky caramel brown body, modest creamy beige head. (3+) Nice hoppy aroma, modest resin and a good dose of citrus seeds. (7+) Similar flavour, pithy citrus bitterness, mild resin, light grainy undertones. (7+) Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate. (3+) Solid. Bottle, Coles IPA Festival, Buffalo

bottle- disappointing tea like taste and mouthfeel. not the spice I was looking for. Hops not present. Oxidized. Perhaps this was a older bottle, so I would try it again, but very unimpressed.

Pours with a light brown, creamy head covering a clear red body with some particles. Grat lacing. Aroma of malts, currants, some caramel and rye. Taste is sweet and malty with a nice hop bite. Tastes like an imperial red but with less alcohol. Lively bubbles. Great beer.

On tap at Founders. A great red colour with a lasting off-white head. Strong rye kick with bitter hoppy followup. A great beer.

Pours clear dark red with a fizzy light brown. Aroma is lightly malty, heavily hoppy of grass, pine and lemons, yeasty of leather, apples and toffee. Flavor has great balance, hoppy grapefruit in flavor dominates with rye in background, finish is hoppy. Medium bodied creamy and softly carbonated.
