| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 12, 2007 Bottle. Pours a deep red body with nice head. Aroma is hoppy, sweet malt and a faint rye scent that really came out as it warmed. Flavor is a nice hoppy taste, nice mlaty backbone and a really nice rye presence. I found myself drinking this pretty quickly and was wondering it’s sessionability (possible new word?) but at the higher alcohol rate I need to slow this one down and enjoy it... marcus (1848), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 11, 2007 This red ale poured with a modest beige head and a strong malt aroma. The flavor is very hoppy from start to finish, with an underlying malt taste. The resulting balance makes for a very pleasant drink. tennisjoel (936), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA

Nice grapefruit citrus nose going on here. Flavor is kind of bready with a slight bitter finish. Also some rye flavor in the finish. The flavors all seem to meld together well here. Very enjoyable and simple almost session like qualities, although now I see it’s just under 7%. Well, the alcohol is well hidden so it tastes like a session anyway.
