| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 25, 2007 Draught: Lightly sweet aroma. Smells of floral hops and Amarillos. Poured red with a hint of amber in color with a big, dense, creamy, light brown head that lasted throughout. Clear. Very sparkling. Flavor is bitter. Tastes of Amarillo hops, spice (like hot pepper), and caramel malts. Medium body. Strange, thick, gluey texture. Lively carbonation. Bitter Amarillo finish. Overall, tasty. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA

Taste is interesting, with a distinct rye dryness. Syrupy mouthfeel and below average carbonation. Light alcohol notes in the aftertaste. A very good beer! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 19, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head (ha, really it does.) Smells hoppy with a nice freshly baked rye bread aroma to it. I actually don’t taste much of the rye though... the hops come across relatively strongly. Good brew regardless. shp555 (1681), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 16, 2007 Beautiful looking amber color, small white head with minimal lacing. Strong floral hop and grapefruit essence in the nose along with a mild sweet caramel hint. I was unable to pick up the rye characteristics in the aroma but..........boy can I taste it. It’s not overpowering yet it lends its presence well. Some pine and citrus make their way in for the dance and help to meld this brew together wonderfully. This will make a great session beer. wetherel (1588), Encinitas, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 13, 2007 Bottle from secret santa. Thanks! Pours with a little of medium bottles. The surface carries a thin oily film. Nice hoppy soapy aroma. Clear amber color. The soap is unmistakable. Oddly enough, the aroma is pleasant, even with the soap. By the bottom of the glass, the soap aroma is gone. Sweet well balanced, with a leaning toward the hoppy side. Very nice and drinkable beer. Finished bottle, which hasn’t been happening as often lately.
