The head is initially nice, off-white, but quickly resumes to cover. Appealing rye, cookies and raisin nose contain a strong multi-hopped facet reminiscent of smoky/earthy centennial. Bitterness comes out quite heavy. Bready and earthy profile, nicely leafy and woody toward the finish, but citric all the way. Medium bodied, slight creaminess, smooth overall feel. Good stuff. bu11zeye (5510), Frisco, Texas, USA

Has a fresh hoppy and toasted caramel malty aroma. Body starts with some mild rich caramel and toffee sweetness turning more dry toward a well-balanced somewhat hoppy crisp finish. A very nice rye beer with decent complexity of flavor. Thanks secret santa! hopscotch (5493), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Hazy, mahogany ale with a small, off-white head. Floral, very citrusy aroma with notes of orange peel and very light toffee. Citrusy, bitter flavor that screams for more malt to balance things out, but would be less refreshing with it. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with moderate carbonation. Crisp, bitter and tangy finish. This brewery impresses me yet again with another world class beer. Excellent IPA! duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Draught@Redbones, Boston. Some light fruity malt characters to start (berry fruit?), lightly caramelly and sweet. Then the aromatic hops kick in at the end just to remind you that you’re in the US, in fact there is quite a lot of aromatic, slightly piney, citrusy hops. this was quite nice. jcwattsrugger (5452), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
