Reddish hue with an off white head that lingers nicely. Good lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops and a hint of rye. Initial taste is dominated by hops, but as it goes to back of the mouth, I pick up the rye with sweet hints of berry, malt, and spice. Finish is semi- dry, hoppy, and I picked up a a subtle flavor of candy red hots. Hoppiness lingers at the back of the mouth. This stuff is great and always consistent, and is probably one of my favorite session beers. I always pick up a six when I am in a town that carries this line. Had this on tap at The Blind Pig in Champaign, IL. Great beer place. Dark copper body under a frothy tan head. Nice lacing and animated bubbles. Aroma of fresh citrusy hops mingled with matly sweetness and a wisp of rye. Gentle carbonation and a strong body. The flavor was predominently hops and in the most pleasant of ways. Mixed in was the matly sweetness and the hints of rye, but the hops are what grab you and entice you into more and more. A refreshing, rewarding, thoroughly enjoyable beer that would go well with most foods, especially spicy food. Yes, this is definitely a keeper.

I’ve not been too into reds lately, but this one’s got a lovely bitterness without sacrificing the malty goodness. Big floral hops suggest a pale initial, but there’s some fine dry malting to give it a rich feel that balances out the citrus and gives the body some heft. Very nice. tjthresh (1781), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

All american hops. Pungant and resiny. Clear copper/red with tan head and fab lacing. Big hop flavor with rye spicyness. Caramel, and good bitterness. Quite dry and refreshing. My first founder’s beer ever. Pretty happy so far. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

Seemed generic when compared to the Breakfast Stout and Devil Dancer I suppose. Poured out a very deep amber red color. Tannish head with a touch of red in it. Nice lacing. Aroma is a mix of malty sweetness, pine and floral hop notes. Nice medium body. Very well balanced. Somewhat sweet and drying. Flavor mixes piney hops and sweet caramel malts together quite well. Lingering hops in finish. Quite well done!! sneagrams3 (1761), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
