Sweet, but well balanced. TheShat really nailed the tea character in this beer. Good Stuff. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 1, 2004 Dark amber, light foam. Citrusy nose, slightly sweet malt accent. The body is surprisingly resiney with some piney notes. A good sweet maltiness backs things up nicely, makes this otherwise standard American amber a rather nice brew. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 24, 2009 12oz bottle. Was this worth sitting in an extra hour of LA traffic to get? Definitely. Dark red-brown with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel malts, rye, and spicy hops. The flavor has rich and spicy malts with a nice spicy and floral hop balance leading to a medium-bitter finish and some light lingering sweetness. A robust and flavorful ale with complex and interesting flavors. This is just what I needed after a slew of west coast IPAs in the last few days.
