Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Light red and hazy with lots of small floaters and little head. VERY strong floral, resinous and slightly grassy hop aroma. Big bodied and malty with caramel and strong hop flavor and a dryish finish. Somewhat winey in flavor. Interesting and somewhat challenging.

Sampled at Peoria Int’l Beer Festival. Dark orange in color, clear, with a small light-brown head. Orange citrus aroma. Moderately bitter flavor, extremely IPA-ish, until the rye and wheat notes pop at the tail end of the flavor. Finishes bitter and slightly grainy.

Bottle... Poured cloudy, reddish/amber with a thin, white head. Spiced aroma with ginger and warm, bready, grain notes. Full palate with big fruity flavors -- almost like berries -- with some hops and malts. Sweet candy finish almost like honey.

Pous a somewhat cloudy amber, with a tan head. Aromas are pine, grapefruit, and a little malt. Flavor is much like the aroma, with a bit of spice as well. More hoppy than I would prefer.

Beatufiul bright red body with a thick, frothy white ehad. Potent, hoppy aroma, citrus/grapefruit and very crisp. Very hoppy flavor, with a slight sweetness -more true to an IPA style. The finish has a crisp, grapefruity and well-defined sharpness.

Pours a ruby red color with a small off white head. Aroma of fig, vinegar, rye and hops. Flavor is a nice caramel maltiness with a nice hoppy/rye bitter finish.

Bottle as gift from GF, she has actually bought me the bottles for the last two remaining styles I had yet to drink. Darker brown, almost hazy with small to medium beige head. Light grapefruit and pine hop aroma dominates with some caramel malt presence. Very nice pine hop flavor mixes well with a sort of earthy rye malt, caramel, medium sweet front that dries out pretty quickly, pretty floral as well. Medium creamy body. A nice earthy and hoppy rye from Founders, they do not dissapoint.
