Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Canals purchase. This is slowly becoming one of my favorite breweries. Strong hop aroma with a full floral taste that leaves you wanting more. Damn good beer.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Red amber with lasting fluffy head and lace. Spicy floral hop and cola(?) aroma. Extremely well balanced toasted caramel sweetness with grain, minimal fruit, and spicy bitter finish. Excellent and complex session beer. It just screams, "Well made."

Dark coppery in color with minimal white head. Aroma is nicely hopped with more than a hint of caramel popcorn. Very grapefruity taste with the above element of popcorn (which I will assume is the rye). Nicely carbonated with a viscous mouthfeel, and smooth, lingering bitterness. $2/12oz

Pours a slightly hazy golden red color. Little to no head. Sweet malt aroma mixes with a crisp bitter note. Floral hoppy nose becomes sweet malt flavors, finishing with a sharp rye crispness accentuated by some citrusy hop bitterness. Very refreshing for such a high alcohol content.

Pours a nice very slightly fogged amber with ruby hints when held to light. Minimal tan head does not stay long at all. Nose is nice and fruity with a decent amount of sugar/candy in the mix as well. Flavor is pretty robust. I guess the rye really comes into effect here and gives a fairly bodied experience. Seems like the profile is mostly of wood. Nice and hearty really. Feel is good on the liquid and the carbonation is fairly full. Smooth and drinkable, but slightly more of a sipper than one to pound down.

Pours a deep, glowing ruby red color with a huge frothy off white head that leave a thick sticky lacing in my glass. Aromatic hoppy aromas of pineapple, grapefruit and pine. Resiny pine, citrus and pineapple cake flavors, medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel, finishes bitter and dry. I think I may have found a new favorite from this brewery, this one is very drinkable at 6.8%.

Pours a copper red, with a good two inches of tan sudsy foam. Very good head retention and moderate lacing. Dry tangy aroma. Ballsy citrus hops, dry rye. Nice combination. A hint of caramel and lots of pithy grapefruit in the finish. Dry rye and grapefruit and sweeter apricot linger in the aftertaste. Medium body, very nice level of carbonation.

Bottle. Aroma of sweet pineapple. Hazy red body, creamy off-white head. What a wonderful beer! Flavor is pine and citrus, with some sweetness, fruits, and caramel. It all holds together remarkably well, and finishes with a mild bitterness. Super. Wish I could get this in the northeast all the time.
