Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Cloudy red color with a big chunky head that looks like a ice cream float. Aroma is resiny hops with a good amount of caramel malt. Flavor is a delicious and chewy.

Poured a lightly hazy, amber red color with a large off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of light pine, caramel malts, floral hops, and citrus fruits as well. Taste of light caramel, toffee malts, some pine, citrus, tropical fruits, and a dry, rye finish. Faint alcohol and a full mouthfeel. Really hoppy, nice.

From a 12 oz short necked brown bottle. Very nice looking beer, i decided to use my Chimay chalice, dark, deep, luxuriant ruby red, slightly hazy with a nice sized light tan head, that dissapeared fast leaveing lashings of lace down the chalice. Quite a hoppy aroma, almost as spicy as the typical American IPA,nice and invigorating. mmm i like the taste, nice smooth sweetness at first then overwhelmed by the bitter/peppery hops witha touch of what I imagine to be rye on the sides of the tongue, this all blends in quite well leaving a good impression. Very very nice feel on the palate, luxuriant and creamy smooth but packing a potent "zing". Very drinkable ale, If I could get this in Oregon ,it would be a regular in my fridge Thanks to Jah Noth for this excellent ale!

Deep round red color and beautiful floral hop nose. This beer is both bitter and balanced. Wow. It makes me want to dance with tigers and sleep with rats. Sometimes.

Bottle from Tom (oldgrowth) Thanks! Pours out a nice red color with a small head that sticks to the glass as it disappears. Smells hoppy, sweet, and fruity. Taste is malty at first, and rich and powerful. Very smooth, incredibly smooth actually. A nice little hop kick, but nothing outrageous, and it doesnt linger. Finish is dry, and refreshing. I could drink multiple bottles of this with potentially devistating results. Very nice brew.

Blooming red in color, hazy appearance, nice slab of creamy-toned foam sits above. Nice hops, rich maltiness, very bright and vibrant, lively and luscious. Taste: big buckets of yum. tingly, delcious hops on the palate, warm, full, jam-packed with flavor. Very nice, full of fruit and malt. Incredibly smooth. doesn’t taste like any rye beer I’ve ever had, the hops are on the top, and the malt is so ...so, everything. this is damned nice, and would be an a shoo-in as a regular in my fridge, were I able to purchase it locally...full-bodied, with a soft, lush fruity finish. silky. And I think I said "yum" already...I’ll say it three times, then you know it’s true. Yum.

12 oz bottle, courtesy of Sammy. Deep red-brown beer with a thin off-white head. Big hoppy aroma, pine, resin, and some woodsy spiciness. Sweet malts mingle behind the hoppy top notes. Vanilla aroma as well. Flavour shows the same vanilla notes, spicy hops, and a touch of peppery alcohol. Faint sweetness in the middle of the palate before a fruity cherry and citrus flavour that is quickly backed up by an assertive hop flavour and bitterness. Awesome.

Poured Red with a huge foamy tan head. Nose had lemon, strawberry and malts. As I warmed this in my hands, I also got notes of spruce. There be hops in here. The taste is very well balanced. I tasted lemon-grapefruit hops. Smothered over a malty-bread backbone. This goes down smooth, Ha! Crisp clean dry finish. Wow, this is a really well made brew. It was gone before I even noticed. Thanks to OHIODAD.
