Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Red amber with lasting fluffy head and lace. Spicy floral hop and cola(?) aroma. Extremely well balanced toasted caramel sweetness with grain, minimal fruit, and spicy bitter finish. Excellent and complex session beer. It just screams, "Well made."

Color is gorgeous amber red. Aroma is a hop lovers dream. Big citrus hops. I think amarillo. Flavor is nice, balanced, sweet, hoppy, with a rye kick. The rye is great while drinking but the aftertaste is the only drawback for me. I had a glass from the tap and loved it so much I bought a six pack.

Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with orange tints. The head is massive and dense and hardly recedes at all leaving gobs of clumpy lacing. This is a damn fine looking beer. Smell starts with a decent kick of citrus hops with grapefruit leading the way, but the rye presence is very evident in the nose on top of the sweet caramel malt backbone. Taste also starts with citrus hops, and gives way to the sweet malts and rye. The finish actually has a pine hop bitterness that was not as evident in the aroma. The mouthfeel is super smooth and creamy with really strong carbonation that brings out the hops and spices on the palate. This is probably the best rye beer I’ve had and an extremely unique and tasty brew from Founders. Highly recommended.

Outstanding - Hoppy, Hoppy, Hoppy awsome taste. I would like to try some other Red ales. Not sure what the rye brought in - but another great brew from Founders.

A delicious pale ale. A good balance of bitter and smooth. Hoppy with a bit of a carmelized sugar note.

Smells of hops, florals and caramel. Hoppy, bitter with some sweetness. Hops lingers on with a nice smoothness. This is a really nice beer.

Beer pours cloudy orange brown color with a nice totally retained beige colored head. Aroma is also enjoyable with a wonderful floral hop aroma, a bit of malt and rye. Flavor is very hoppy bright as to fresh citrus. Very enjoyable strong ale. ABV is not noticable.

Bottle: Cloudy red/orange with a thick rocky off-white head, spicy citrus aroma with earthy tones, full bodied with soft lively carbonation, starts and ends bitter with a velvet-like ending with some nice spice from the rye.
