Aroma is mostly hops but you can tell that there is some malt underneath. The flavor is bold and robust. Very malty and warm.. Notes of caramel, fruits, and a nice citrus grapefruit kick on the back of each sip that makes you take notice that this is a fine brew.. Very creamy on the palate. Full in the mouth and quite warming on the backside. This was surprisingly better than I expected. Quite tasty.. I’ll drink this another time! fbennett (293), Lowell, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 22, 2006 This beer poured highly carbonated, actually over flowed out of the bottle, then took about 20 minutes to finally pour into the glass. The head is light brown thick and frothy like whipped egg white. The body has yeast floating around the red-orange body and looks wonderful. The smell is funky, rye, caramel, light citrus hops, and a powdered drink mix aroma. The taste is syrupy upfront with a bitter hop bite that is followed by a smooth blast of sweetness leaving a bready like quality in the finish. This is a wonderful brew that has alot going on def going to go back to this brew.

Aroma of hops, grapefruit, malt, citrus, rye. Taste starts with hop bitterness with a smooth follow-through. Slightly sweet. Comfortable palate. Overall, a refreshing, tasty beer. mnurda (438), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Flavor, lots of citrus, caramel, and some really nice bitterness to it. I love these hoppy rye beers, and this is no exception.
