A different kind of beer taste than most, and completely delicious. Deep orange-red amber colors, creamy but light, very refreshing, very little bitterness but the hops contribute lots of flavor. Complex floral hops, especially in the immediate aroma (comparing to others on table), but just very good. doppelmeup (51), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

A bit hard to determine aromas in the bar atmosphere, but it was slightly fruity with hints of pumpernickel bread.
Taste was exceptional. Awesome combination of malts and hops, perfectly balanced. Slight rye presence in the background.
Smooth, creamy mouthfeel.
Overall, one of the most drinkable beers I’ve had. This was an exceptional beer and lived up to the hype. An excellent choice.

Rich malt hop aroma, sweet malt with a touch of cherry and a big bitter hop followup. Palate is a little harsh, but its full body and great hops and rye flavor makes this a winnerIn fact,it has now become one of my favorites and my rating for ithas been significantly highened MagooinPA (99), Warminster, Pennsylvania, USA

Well poured as everything here is including the 2 cask beers(not easy if you’ve never done it). Like Monk’s, these girls know their beer. My young waitress said she loved this beer and wondered why it took so long to get it.This beer looks great and the nose is even better. I smelled a perfect hop aroma that I have not experienced since I had Victory Hop Devil on cask for the 1st time. This was perfect. All that flowering hop aroma with an awesome appearance. The 1st taste was better than I expected since my anticipation from my sense of smell and sight of this marvel was most likely yet another disappointment. This surpassed in taste what I thought was going to be a great beer. It was the best beer I ever had. Wow! I have no perfect scores here in my little file of reviews, but then again, the day I taste the perfect beer, what is the point of going on? Pursuit is the best part of the game. My favorite beer before this was Youngs SLA and I considered that the perfect harmony of all things beer. F**K styles and guidelines, it is what tastes good to you. I have a new perfectly harmonic new favorite. By the way, the abv (6.8)is not even remotely present in any way. Enjoy this folks, it is a gem. chimpscampee (566), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma of fresh citrusy hops mingled with matly sweetness and a just a hint of grain. The flavor is awesome, first you taste fresh hops, some citrus, some floral, and then you get some of the malt sweetness, the flavors deepen as it warms, nice full mouthfeel, with a dry finish.
