Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Bottle. Pours a deep red body with nice head. Aroma is hoppy, sweet malt and a faint rye scent that really came out as it warmed. Flavor is a nice hoppy taste, nice mlaty backbone and a really nice rye presence. I found myself drinking this pretty quickly and was wondering it’s sessionability (possible new word?) but at the higher alcohol rate I need to slow this one down and enjoy it...

Pours copper-amber with fluffy off-white head and a decent amount of sediment. Brilliant nose carries aromas of rich caramel malt, rye, and a substantial amount of bitter, citrus, and floral hops. Great balance achieved in the flavor- hop bitterness gives way to creamy-sweet malt and rye spciness. Good showing from Founders.

12-oz. Thanks to BitBucket for the trade. Unalloyed generosity on his part for this round, without a doubt. Pours coppery brown, and fairly opaque at that. Glows copper against the light. The nose is just amazing on this beer. Sour sharp rye with some piney hop dissonance...definitely a perfect match. The attack is crisp, and that’s bulwarked by a nice bubbly mouthfeel that sits between raw and fizz. The finish is quite dry and bitter, though not exceptionally so for the style. Rich nutty rye sourness permeates the flavor as well as the aroma. Really great, drinkable stuff--this beer should probably not be served by the pitcher if I have to drive.

Pours a healthy red to slightly brown with a decent dense head, but perhaps a bit too much in the way of bubbles. The aroma is malty and lightly sweet with what I think is floral Cascades and something a bit juicier. The mouthfeel is is smooth and creamy, with tiny little bubbles and a decent viscosity. The flavors are strong and balanced. Sweet and creamy with rich caramel malt up front turning very quickly into spicy juicy hops. The rye starts to come through with the hops, but it keeps on keeping on, giving a nice lasting interplay with the hoppy bitterness. I really enjoyed this brew and I’ll be picking up a sixer in the not too distant future.

Pours a reddish amber with a good sized off white head. The aroma has some caramel, a bit of spice and lots of rye. The flavor is a good balance of sweet and bitter. The caramel sweetness is balanced with a great hop bitterness and the added ry just gives it that uniqueness that helps this beer stand out. Good dry finish. Excellent

Pours amber with an extreme amount of frothy, off-white head. Strong odor of citrus hops. Thin mouthfeel, but a surprisingly subtle, complex taste. Starts off with a light sweet maltyness, then shifts to warm grapefruit and ends with a nice hoppy bitterness. I really like this beer.

12oz. brown bottle served in a shaker pint. Pours a brilliant, reddish copper with about a finger of light tan head. Big piny hop aroma. Starts off with a solid malty base with some spicy rye. Great hop bite that is piny with some grapefruit. Long lingering finish with the hops. I’m glad this is available in my area now. This is a great beer.

Bottle. Poured a reddish copper color with a faint white head. Aroma was grass, pine, and floral hops. Flavor was very bitter and hops. Very grood beer.
