Well poured as everything here is including the 2 cask beers(not easy if you’ve never done it). Like Monk’s, these girls know their beer. My young waitress said she loved this beer and wondered why it took so long to get it.This beer looks great and the nose is even better. I smelled a perfect hop aroma that I have not experienced since I had Victory Hop Devil on cask for the 1st time. This was perfect. All that flowering hop aroma with an awesome appearance. The 1st taste was better than I expected since my anticipation from my sense of smell and sight of this marvel was most likely yet another disappointment. This surpassed in taste what I thought was going to be a great beer. It was the best beer I ever had. Wow! I have no perfect scores here in my little file of reviews, but then again, the day I taste the perfect beer, what is the point of going on? Pursuit is the best part of the game. My favorite beer before this was Youngs SLA and I considered that the perfect harmony of all things beer. F**K styles and guidelines, it is what tastes good to you. I have a new perfectly harmonic new favorite. By the way, the abv (6.8)is not even remotely present in any way. Enjoy this folks, it is a gem. chimpscampee (556), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma of fresh citrusy hops mingled with matly sweetness and a just a hint of grain. The flavor is awesome, first you taste fresh hops, some citrus, some floral, and then you get some of the malt sweetness, the flavors deepen as it warms, nice full mouthfeel, with a dry finish. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 30, 2007 Pours a lightly hazy ruby red amber with a large foamy/creamy off white lacing head. Great looking beer! Aroma is a bouquet of hops with orange, pine, floral notes, caramel and hints of rye. Flavor of citrus, caramel, grapefruit, piney, toffee, nice rye notes, dry and a very nice balance of hop bitterness and malty sweetness. One excellent beer! detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Pours a copper red, with a good two inches of tan sudsy foam. Very good head retention and moderate lacing. Dry tangy aroma.
Ballsy citrus hops, dry rye. Nice combination. A hint of caramel and lots of pithy grapefruit in the finish. Dry rye and grapefruit and sweeter apricot linger in the aftertaste. Medium body, very nice level of carbonation.

Foamy one inch head, dark amber color, mild lacing. Phenominal aroma: floral grass, pine, citrus. Excellent mouth-feel. Flavor is rich and complex and mirrors the aroma. Alot going on here. Outstanding ale!! Bravo Grand Rapids! Glouglouburp (2839), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 3, 2007 Cloudy orange-copper body topped by an initially large beige head leaving lots of lacings. Aroma is a fruity hop-soup. Intense. Full and slightly oily body with tasty rye malts. Copiously hopped with a resulting complex hop taste. Far from the uni-dimensional pine-tree or citrus hop profile. The end result is hard-hitting, harsh, fruity but dry. Dry berries and shredded hop-cones. Harsh assertive bitterness. I don’t care about the Speciality Grain style on ratebeer. This is an IPA to me. And it may very well be my favourite non-imperial (<7%) hop-fix. Hence the ridiculously high rating. Draft in Boston it was unreal. Bottle is still great. I’m a huge fan of a generous c-hopping of a solid rye-based body (Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye Ale is another example). But honestly I can’t express the taste and/or I can’t relate it to known flavours. I just don’t have the words to describe it. Well, I have the words but they are woooa, hmmmm, hhhhaaaaaaa but I don’t think these are very useful in a rating.
