Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Beatufiul bright red body with a thick, frothy white ehad. Potent, hoppy aroma, citrus/grapefruit and very crisp. Very hoppy flavor, with a slight sweetness -more true to an IPA style. The finish has a crisp, grapefruity and well-defined sharpness.

Just had the blackrye ale, so now its time for the red I figure. Color is a deep red and a thin head on top. Aroma is like an IPA, strong citrus and floral notes. Flavor is a good blend of sweet malt caramel flavor and hop bitterness. The palate leans more towards the strong bite side at the end, but begins more tame. Another quality brew by founders. I expect the IPA to be just as tastey now.

Decent sized light tan hea dof fine bubbles. Reduces to a thick sheet of sticky lacing. Wonderful aroma. A boat load of pine, citrus, flowers and grapefruit in there. Gotta love hops! Dry aroma also. Color is a dark orange red. Flavor is sweet like hard candy up front then mellows out to a wonderful hops palate. Little spices and a little rye. Slight bitterness but is very well balanced. Finish is bitter and dry and leaves a lingering sweet and pasty bitterness in the mouth. I really like this beer. Thanks to RoyalBrown for this one.

Of course it pours amber, but thats just the beginning. Wonderful full on floral hoppy nose and a good amount of head retention. Taste is hoppy as well with a nice balance. On the sweet side but not enough for ir to matter much.

(12 oz bottle) deep copper with light copper head, nice lace. Lovely spicy hops aroma with some malt. Flavor is malt, rye, and a strong hop backbone. I’d love to try this one on cask.

Bottle, from Julio’s.Real good nose, Pine, floral, orange, toffee/caramel. Clean orangy red color, small beige head that faded quickly. Bitter sweet flavors, Citrusy, grapefruit/orange, rye has bite, some caramel, but its buried by the hops. Medium bodied, thick creamy mouthfeel, Citrusy rye bitter, dryish, finish. Man that’s a nice ASA. Founders just keeps rolling.

Bottle pours dark caramel, quite cloudy, large frothy off-white head, clingy lacing, with very soft carbonation.   Hops, slight pine, and citrus rind on the nose.   Semi-sweet bitterness, citrusy, with a nice malty background.   Quite smooth and well balanced.   Solid body, creamy mouthfeel.   Finishes with a floral quality, smooth hop bitterness, and lingering citrus notes.   I really enjoyed this one!   Thanks goes out to TAR for this one!
