Jun 2, 2009 Pours a rich mahogany with added red highlights with a tan head....rye detected in aroma and flavor....hearty thick malt hold this thing together...a nice hop presence (lemon+grapefruit)...in mouth and nose....balanced perfectly....caraway seed too....so easy to drink, yet complex enough to enjoy slowly.....Ive used this in beer bread and it was excellent!!

Jul 12, 2006 12 oz bottle, thanks to Styles for getting this one to me. This poured a a nice amber color with a descent off white head. Great hoppy aroma with a nice side of rye. I love rye beers! Flavor was well balanced. Good hop bitterness throughout with a nice caramel maltiness in the middle. I actually had this at the beach on a hot summer day, it was a perfect match! This ain’t no Hop Rod Rye, but almost as good! Thanks Chris!

Oct 12, 2008 Bottle pours a ruby brown body with a hint of red in the head. Lots of rye with the malt and a great complimentary hop balance of resins, and fruit like notes. Drink fresh.

Oct 7, 2007 Updated: Dec 1, 2007Thanks dra19. Pours a ruby red with a one finger off white fizzy head. The aroma is very tart and sweet, rye is very obvious, mandarin oranges, hoppy, sweet citrus. The flavor is sweet, a little waxy, hoppy, citrusy, a bit of alcohol, rye, oranges. Dry well carbonated palate and a nice finish. A very very nice beer.

Served on tap at Founders Brewing Company. Appearance is a rich caramelized red. The flavors and aromas have a solid rye malt tone with some earth hops and caramel notes. The mouth is nicely carbonated with s mild bitterness. A very delicious beer.

Feb 20, 2008 16 oz, on tap at Vintage. Pours amber with a 1 cm off-white head. Aroma is a sweeter citrus and a little malt. Initial flavor is a bold maltiness, slight rye and hop notes. Flavor becomes drier at the end. The taste is by far the best part of this red ale. Some lacing, light carbonation, light to medium body, and well hidden alcohol. Drinks well and will continue to consume as long as its on tap.

Dec 16, 2008 12oz bottle thanks to TURDFERGUSON. Pours a dark amber with a tan head. Nose is of floral hops, caramel and rye. Taste is of rye and floral hops. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonated with bitter hop finish.
