Jun 30, 2009 Pours a cloudy, dark amber with a thin, off-white head. Piney hops and sweet malts in the aroma. Tastes of piney and citrus hops, caramel, toast, cereal, sweet malts, with a bit of earthiness and hop bitterness in the finish. A rather unique brew and was definetely a treat for me.

Jun 4, 2009 A red amber in color the beer with a modest off-white head. Aroma is very resiny with lots of bitterness, some floral notes, a light rye coming through with the caramel sweetness of the malt at the end. Flavor starts off with a strong resiny bitterness, slight grapefruit bite in there as well but the middle is pretty dominate of malt sweet caramel malt and some rye malt with a bitter tongue puckering ending. Overall a solid beer and one I will enjoy again as a consistent beer to pick up.

Honestly I’m not sure how the rye plays into all of this, but if it has any role whatsoever, bully for them.

Jan 24, 2009 Bottle into Sam Adams Lager glass. Pours a very hazy dark copper bordering on brown, with a nice, rocky off-white head that eventually fades into a creamy cap. Nose is floral, citrus and spicy pine notes, a bit of rye. Taste is sweet up front - lots of spicy rye, slightly toasty, rich, bit of caramel underneath the rye, with a spicy, resiny hop note that sits lightly on top of the malt without dominating, until it really comes out to shine right before the finish. Finish is long, lightly bitter, but with the spicy rye hanging around as well. Mouthfeel is creamy, just enough carbonation bite to let you know it’s there, medium-full body. Very nice beer.

May 11, 2008 Draught: Dark red color. This is a nicely balanced/smooth beer with a lovely hop taste and a hop flavor that lingers and you don’t want to go away. I loved the subtle complexities (work jerk) of this beer and I wish to drink it again.

Sep 24, 2009 Bottle. Pours a thick head with tons of hop flavor complimented with a sweet flavor. My first rye beer, very interesting collection of flavor with citrus, floral and spiciness. Would recommend.

Jun 4, 2009 Pours reddish amber with a thin of white head. Great aroma that is piney, resiney hops and rye malt. Taste is bitter piney hops, rye maltiness, and some fruity (grapefruit and pineapple?) hop flavor as well.

Feb 13, 2008 Roasted "red" malt aroma backed with a deal of hop. Mahogany color with a vigorous white head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. The flavor is smooth roasted malt with resin and citrus hop. Rye flavor comes out with time, and the balance of malt and hop is pretty good. The finish is lightly sweet and strongly hopped. Very good drink.
