This beer is INCREDIBLE! The hops and rye create one of the most pleasanlty bitter beers I have ever had. A new favorite! trayns (241), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA

The pour is great - very nice deep red amber color, with a large beige head that lasts throughout. The aroma is big, malty, and complex - some piny hops detected too. The taste is pretty solid too. A big malt body followed with a strong strong presence of hops. A very delicious brew. Only thin con would be a slighter lighter palate. Pawola22 (735), Kansas City, Missouri, USA

Pours a murky, dark red copperish body with a small, white, fizzy head that dissipates quickly and remains nicely laced. Actually leaves layers of thick lacing after each sip. Quite sexy. I am also absolutely in love with this aroma. Loaded with perfume-like fruity hops. It shoots out at me from an armslength away. Lots of grainy, spicy rye bread malts and lucious, grassy fruits. Raspberry, lemon, peach, apples, and pineapples. Intense and complex aroma. I am ready to wed this bouquet of a fragrance. Flavor is not as exceptional as the aroma, but still very nice. Lots of grassy hops from beginning to end and a good amount of caramel malts. Big, but soft rye bread taste with a floral yeastiness. Very rich and multi-grainy in the finish with a nice citrus and apple linger. Palate is medium bodied and dry. Overall, a very impressive beer. One of my favorite smelling beers of all time. Great flavor to go along with it too. I love the hoppy rye with a touch of caramel. $9.99 for a six pack!!! Thanks Ceebs25 for the recommendation! ajwilliams (118), , Indiana, USA

Full bodied flavor of floral hops, malt, hints of red wine, and the interesting rye notes make this a really great whatever it is. Very pleasantly surprised with this one, and I will definitely go for it again. monkeychugg55 (228), Joliet, Illinois, USA

Sports an amazing aroma of simcoe, earthy grains, and some sweet caramel malt. Sweet caramel malt at first, with a crisp break, then a slew of hops and bitterness. Medium bodied with some light but prickly carbonation. This beer is awesome. An amazing amalgamation of flavors combined with great balancing and complexity. I really enjoy rye beers and this is a fine example of why. tomatoella (1), , South Carolina, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 15, 2009 Citrus nose, bright and fresh, the rye comes as an absence of bitterness and astringency. I was suprised to find myself enjoying this as much as I do. Flavor wise you have a good strong hop flavor here which I like that cool and crisp. I really don’t notice any difference with the Rye though but then again I have never drunk anything with Rye before either.
