Commercial Description:
Pours a spectacular crimson red with a creamy tan head. Brewed with four varieties of Belgian caramel malts imparting a sweet richness. Reds Rye is impressively balanced with its hop bitterness and floral bouquet achieved from the dry hop. In the finish, the generous amount of malted rye used accentuates a spicy crisp finish.

Pours a reddish amber with a good sized off white head. The aroma has some caramel, a bit of spice and lots of rye. The flavor is a good balance of sweet and bitter. The caramel sweetness is balanced with a great hop bitterness and the added ry just gives it that uniqueness that helps this beer stand out. Good dry finish. Excellent

Bottle 355 ml
Appearance: clear amber red look with large fine creamy head.
Nose: superb freshness found in it. Quality blend of hops with brown malt with soft character of rye.
Flavor/Palate : fontal woody bitterness with fresh leafy top. Toffee behind., crystal malt . Finishing bit peppery. Some carbonation dryness helps with frontal heavy hop. Clean mature formula. Gem of a brew.

Grapefruit! More than any other beer I’ve ever had. Wow. I’m going to have this again, and see if I can detect the rye more, but right now, one of the best ways to deliver delicious hop flavor into your gullet - and balanced well with sweetness, too.

Bottle, pours a brown red with slight tan head, Aroma, huge citrus hops, Tatse, some slight maltiness but mostly huge hops, citrus and grapefruit, some tomgue tingle with a smooth finish that leaves with a little spice and tongue curling dryness. i like it

Location: 12 oz bottle from Wine and Beer Westpark, 12/27/09

Aroma: Nose has some caramel along with a lot of citrus/resiny/floral hop notes
Appearance: Pours a hazy caramel red color with a frothy white head
Flavor: Taste is medium bitter with a mellow sweetness from the caramel/rye
Palate: The body is medium, with average carbonation and a nice mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This is a pretty nice beer, I didn’t get much of the rye in the nose, but it does come through in the flavor. A nice hop profile that includes all of the citrus, pine, floral, and resin characteristics is joined by a nice caramel malt and rye flavor. The flavors really all meld very nicely.

Had a bottle during my football team’s embarsasing MNF performance. A darker red/brownish color, some malt taste with a nice hop bite. A pretty solid beer. Will update with more details after I drink the other one in my fridge.

Bursting with flavors. Citrus grapefruit, dark caramel rye malts, perfectly balanced with a lingering hop aftertaste that begs you to take another drink.

On tap at Piper’s Pub. Medium hop aroma. Resin and pine with bit of citrus and grassy character. Light carbonic gaseousness and a bit of malt sweetness. Medium dark amber clear with foamy off-white lacing head. Heavy watery body with high carbonation and fizzy burn. Starts with light malt sweetness, mostly bitter with good resinous notes. Grassy herbal hop notes, a bit of caramel and brown sugar. Light taste of rye. Bitter finish but smoothes out nicely. Good hoppy ale.
