bluemooner (229), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jun 30, 2009 Pours a cloudy, dark amber with a thin, off-white head. Piney hops and sweet malts in the aroma. Tastes of piney and citrus hops, caramel, toast, cereal, sweet malts, with a bit of earthiness and hop bitterness in the finish. A rather unique brew and was definetely a treat for me. Tweety (337), Vancouver, Washington, USA Jun 27, 2009 I’ve been gravitating to the RyePAs lately, and this is just another one, I’ve drank a lot of this beer recently, and for my money it’s one of the better values out there. slitcher (87), Freeport, Illinois, USA Jun 25, 2009 Pours a dark amber. Piney resin and hops on the nose. Flavor of pinecone and hops. This beer is INCREDIBLE! The hops and rye create one of the most pleasanlty bitter beers I have ever had. A new favorite! TwoDudes (77), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jun 24, 2009 I love this beer...My favorite Founders beer...spice of the rye works very well with the citrusy hops.......................................................................................................................... Elwood (654), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Jun 22, 2009 Draft. Pours a hazy amber with a creamy, light tan head. Pine, resin, and malt sweetness in a strangely familiar nose. Medium carbonation with a medium-light, dry mouthfeel. Hops dominate the palate on this one. Big pine notes, a little sweetness from the malt, and then more bitterness poured on top. A lingering, bitter finish. Rye and lots of hops says it all. Good, but I am not sure I would want to session this one. beerater (16), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jun 22, 2009 This is a very unique and drinkable with lots of character in its aroma and flavor. If you like hoppy beers, you are going to love this. Had this at my favorite Thai restaurant and it went with the spicy food and the sushi appetizers perfectly. Blaze312 (129), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Jun 21, 2009 On tap at founders. Pours a orange with a red tint. Aroma is floral hops with a hint of caramel. Flavor of hops with some sweetness added, there is also a hint of some spice. FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 21, 2009 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a large orange-white head. The aroma was strong fruity and floral hops with light nutty malts underneath. The flavor was strong fruity and piney hops with light caramel, nut and pepper elements and a long piney hop finish. Nice.
