toddkrem (72), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jan 26, 2008 Medium carbonation some lace. Nice spicy flavor with sweetness. Goes good with food. Has floral flavoring to it. One of my favorites at the bar.
durhambeer (535), Durham, USA Oct 9, 2008 Sample at WBF. So glad this just came to NC for sale! Crisp, hoppy sweet nose with solid rye malt aroma. Very fresh and fun, and more hoppy than many rye ales. Nice bubbly head atop a copper body. Grass, grains, and citrus. Crisp bitter finish. Lovely. zappafan99 (332), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Oct 8, 2008 Taste 10/8 Bottle. Looks: Deep Red with a tan clinging head. Aroma: Nice and hoppy with some caramel. Taste: Nice and full bodied. Rich and fulls of hops and grain. Caramel. Unique and very drinkable. Sparky27 (593), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 8, 2008 Bottle courtesy of kmeves. Pours a cloudy amber with huge 4 finger billowy beige head that lasts forever. That persistent head leaves a nice delicate lacing. Nose is floral and citrus hops and caramel malt. Taste is caramel malt upfront with citrus hops and a touch of rye flavor followed by some resin in the finish. Medium, dry mouth feel. Decent stuff. Thanks Kevin! demdeac40 (148), Hendersonville, North Carolina, USA Oct 8, 2008 Pours a deep dark cloudy copper coler with small tan head that hangs around for a little while. The nose is sweet citrus and floral with a subtle hint of pine. Big bitter hit mid palate and finishes clean and smooth. Really gets better as time goes on. keoki182 (302), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA Oct 7, 2008 Pours deep red orange, not much of any head save for a bit of lacing. I really agree with previous rater...lots of pineapple hops in nose and flavor. An interesting sweet/bitter contrast. Very distinct rye astringency in aftertaste. Quite similar to an American pale ale, except for the rye bite. Bitterness takes over as session continues. Would be an amazing beer if there was more balance.
