BBB63 (3810), La Porte, Indiana, USA Apr 22, 2008 Tap at brewpub: Light golden hue with a fizzy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of biscuity pale malt, mineral water, a hint of pear ester, dusty yeast and a touch of DMS. The taste is mild and grainy, a touch of sweet bread with a light handed noble hop finish with some fruity acidity in support. The mouth feel is sprite and refreshing with a chalky finish. Outside of of the noticeable DMS component this is not a bad brew.
Silphium (2028), Lansing, Michigan, USA Sep 3, 2008 On tap at Founders. Hazy orange body, tight buff head. Cerealy, grassy nose with light bitterness. Cerealy body with light tangy, biscuity malts and grassy, modest hops. This beer was brewed for people not willing to take a chance on their better beers. badnewsbeers (982), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Jul 5, 2008 for its intentions and purpose, i suppose this is not a bad beer...for Founders, its somewhat dissapointing however. the offering of the beer alone is dissapointing..grassy, grainy indistinct nose and flavor..blah jeffwilliams11 (275), hooterville, Michigan, USA May 16, 2008 i really hate to give a founders beer this bad a rating. aroma and flavor are almost nonexistant. color is that of an american macro, also overcarbed as such. what a bummer from an amazing brewery. sneagrams3 (1451), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 10, 2008 Tasted 4/27/08. 4oz pour from the brewpub.
