jredmond (633), New Jersey, USA Sep 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy amber, no head. Light aroma - some funk, not much flavor.
AMN (123), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 1, 2008 Maybe I’m missing something, but for a pumpkin beer, it didn’t taste much like pumpkin. So if I had to grade it as an example of the style, it wouldn’t do so well. As an amber/spice/whatever ale, it does okay. eaglefan538 (2115), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Nov 29, 2008 Bottle from State Line. Pour was orangey brown with an ok head and lacing (in a glass that normally magnifies the two, though). The aroma and flavor were pretty typical for the style, although the pumpkin/squashy notes were more prominent than the spices - which is better than over-spicing if balance is to be missed. Mouthfeel was moderate to light. An ok beer within the style, but not much more. unclemattie (1715), Georgia, USA Nov 1, 2008 Short 12oz bottle. Light copper pour. Bold aroma of pumpkin and pumpkin spice. Flavor of pumpkins. Very flavorful. Light spice of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove. Lighter bodied. Finishes with a flavor of squash. I do love those pumpkin beers. This may be one of the better ones I’ve had. ATLBeerDog (279), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Nov 1, 2008 From a brown 12oz bottle - Pours a fairly clear reddish/orange with a slight head and very low carbonation. Smells of sweet species, nutmeg, cloves leading the way, with mild hop presence. First sip is sweet but too sweet. The spice are mellow but there is nothing to write home about. Finishes slightly bitter. Decent mouthfeel that is under carbonated. daknole (1131), Plantation, Florida, USA Oct 24, 2008 bottle from douglas88...thanks! Pours a nice amber color. Aroma is muted, but there are spices and some pumpkin there. Flavor is light and pretty smooth. Refreshing and easy to drink. I like my pumpkin beers to have more body and to be bolder, but this one is still pretty good.
