Itzjerm (69), Harvest, Alabama, USA Oct 7, 2009 This is one of the worst beers I have ever drank. This is the king of bathroom cleaner beers. Very cleanser flavored. Maybe they were trying to make meth and messed up and ended up with beer. All in all a top 10 avoid! paiste2002 (148), Saugus, California, USA Aug 19, 2009 Tap and cask at Tempe. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Aroma is mild citrus hops and caramel malt. Flavor is citrusy hops and malty sweet. Nice pale ale, very drinkable.
beerbill (1917), Laurel, New York, USA Jul 5, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with Sparky27. Pours a hazy golden amber with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the first two sips and left a few patches of lace. Mild aroma of citrus and malt. The flavor has a bit more of the citrus influence along with some malt and unsweetened iced tea. A bit over-carbonated for an ESB and thin bodied as well. So so. Plamadude30k (122), Tucson, Arizona, USA Jun 3, 2009 Aroma is pleasantly subtle, hints of grapefruit and caramel. The flavor is much more heavily weighted towards the grapefruit end of the spectrum, with a bit of a metalic tang in the beginning. This is complemented by a floral finish and quite a bit of emphatic carbonation. theisti (1637), Leawood, Kansas, USA Apr 27, 2009 12 oz bottle from Sparky27. Pour is slight hazed golden, with a one inch head that falls quick. Nice lacing. Fine carbonation bubbling up to the surface. Aroma of toasted malts and mild resinous hops. Hops are subtle and earthy, very British. Taste is brighter with the hops, immediate bitterness along with the resin and toasted malt semi-sweetness. Also an interesting mineral note, followed by more of the toast flavor. Palate is thin to medium nice level of carbonation. Nicely drinkable beer, though it got a bit muddled and unclean in the longish finish. Thanks for sending this my way Eric! michael0426 (3), Prescott, USA does not count Apr 16, 2009 Very nice English style pale. I wish more ale of this style would hit the shelves. I like our APA style that most breweries have ran with, but for me, the complex English pale style is my favorite.
Bready, malty and a touch of grain flavor. Some stone fruit tartness. English Godings and Kent bring this one home. Medium body and not much of a nose up front. Slight dry mouthfeel. Bready notes again on the finigh. Perfect hop/malt balance imho.
Paired 8th Street w/ a savory meatloaf dinner. Very recomended comfort food pairing. The mellow malts laid back and finished with more english flavors popping than when drank alone. Nose openes up as the glass warmes....slight candy sweetness. I think this would be perfect served w/ fish and chips!
This best bitter is even better on cask, or just tap @ either location. $5.99 a six-pack...hard to argue with that. Very enjoyable Saturday session. Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Apr 15, 2009 From Sparky27 via trade. Pale copper on the pour with a decent white to off-white head that created good lacing. Aroma is of light citrus, malts and a touch of spicy hops. The flavor is a bit of citrus, some iced tea, and kind of spicy. The mouthfeel is thin, the finish is dry. Guerde (693), Welcome, Minnesota, USA Mar 22, 2009 (bottle from Sparky27) Pours a hazy orange-yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is unique and predominately floral, with light lavender, tea, and a hint of pepper. Flavor is restrained, yet pleasant, with a nice base maltiness that imparts flavors of caramel and apricot that finishes out with just a light touch of bitterness and some grain. Mouthfeel is medium with proper carbonation. This is a highly quaffable bitter. Thanks Eric!
