Commercial Description:
Our award winning 8th Street Ale is based on an English-style "Best Bitter" which is the most common ale served in British pubs. What makes 8th Street Ale uncommon is its mellow bitterness and its slightly sweet malt flavor. It's aroma is derived from rare, imported Kentish hops, and lots of them.

Got this as a bonus beer from Shyam. Thanks! Pours a light orange, slightly translucent with a very foamy white head that took a while to settle. Color wise, it doesn’t look like a typical ESB. Smells only mildly malty, a little grassy with some mild lemon coming through. Flavor is very weak, some light malt flavor, slight sugar, a touch of clove perhaps. Very weak and watery on the palate. Nothing wrong with this brew, but you’ll forget about this even before you finish the glass.

12oz bottle, no date from hellbilly in the Mystery Swap 3.0--thanks! Hazy orange with a 1/2 finger off-white head, fair retention. Burnt plastic up front in the aroma with some light floral hops. Hints of earth, caramel, and cinnamon(?) as well. Thankfully, I got only a minimal amount of burnt plastic in the flavor (though the burps had me thinking I ate a melted Lego) and the hops have a citrus/floral thing going on. Pretty dry throughout with a small amount of bready malt sweetness. Bitterness peaked at a 1-2. Moderate carbonation with a light body. Decent at best.

Bottled. Hazy golden orange colour with some sediment. Fluffy off-white head. Citrus-orange, hops and sugar in the aroma. Very active carbonation. I would say more Belgian flavour than ESB. Pleasant but different

Received from Deaz from TalkNCAA.com Poured into a nice Kansas Jayhawks pint. Limited carbonation released when poured, nice late head. Smelled of hops one wouldn’t expect (ok, I wouldn’t expect) to smell in an English Pale Ale Taste was very, very smooth. The hops I couldn’t really taste over the top like I expeced to in the smell, but everything is very nicely blended together. No real outliers of taste, just a tasty beer. Highly drinkable.

12oz bottle. Trade thanks to Bockyhorsey. Semi-chunky golden hazy pour with a light head. Sweet metallic crisp aroma. Nothing is off. Very peculiar flavor. There is a Belgian note that runs through this entire thing. It’s not dominant in any way, just there hanging out in the background. What is more noticeable is the biscuit and grain with English earthy hops. It’s fairly straight forward except for that Belgian thing going on. Semi-dry medium body. I did not dislike it, but it did not wow me either.

Clear, golden-copper with thin white head. Mild biscuit and citrus aroma notes. Citrus and biscuit flavours. Carbonated with a smooth balanced bitter finish. Sessionable.
