Commercial Description:
Our award winning 8th Street Ale is based on an English-style "Best Bitter" which is the most common ale served in British pubs. What makes 8th Street Ale uncommon is its mellow bitterness and its slightly sweet malt flavor. It's aroma is derived from rare, imported Kentish hops, and lots of them.

I tried this on cask at 4 peaks in Tempe. The cask version is much better than the bottle or tap. Light hop aroma. Slightly more cloudy than expected. Flavor is what i think is crystal malt and a light fuggle finish. It is smooth and creamy compared to the majority of American brew, just not smooth enough. This ale is almost a good english bitter. Its aroma is too weak. Its not clear enough. The hop flavor is a bit weak. But its still very good for this side of the pond.

Courtesy of Hellbilly. 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a large sudsy offwhite head. Nose of grassy hops, mild citrus. Initial taste of waxy hop flavor, mild fruits, earthy grinding palate. Finishing with grain and grassiness that fades quickly. Thin watery body.

Nice drinkable and light. Some overall good flavor from some caramel malts and fruity hops. Very mild but good.

12 oz bottle via HELLBILLY (Thanks!). This beer pours a hazy amber with a huge head as the beer crawls quickly out of the bottle and a run to the sink before my wife comes around the corner to nearly see my mess..woo...that was a close call, lol. Ok 20 minutes later the head has receded enough to try this. Not getting much from the nose, just typical grains and subtle grassy hops. Taste is not bad, albeit a bit bland with a thin body and somewhat astringent but wateryfinish. High carbonation. Ok backyard beer.

After 8 miles on flat streets on a bike, sitting in the sun on a chilly but bright day, this was a delight. At the brew-pub and from the tap, it was a very clear brown ale with a white head. A solid if unexceptional ale I could drink more of if I lived around here.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at the Papago Brewing Company tavern in Phoenix, AZ. Pours a clear golden pale brew with a fast dissolving creamy white head the leaves behind a fine film and ring. Aroma of light multi-grain bread malt, a touch of grassy hops and some citrus zest. Taste is light to medium bodied, extra carbonated with a light bready malt flavor with some lemon zest. Finish is slightly bitter, a little gritty with a slight citrus zest aftertaste.

Bottle from cbkschubert. Deep gold pour with 3-finger white head and a lot of carbonation streams. Aroma is toasted lemongrassy pale malt, hops, apricot. Tastes pale malty, citric, with hops, late honey and some spicy fruit notes.
