hombrepalo (726), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 8, 2009 12 oz bottle Thanks to Byaeger (Brian) for this extra. First beer from AZ, 2nd Sottish Ale. Clear brown color that looks a lot like root beer. White head. Malty aroma with caramel notes. Rye-like flavor with more caramel and some raisin notes. Not bad all. paiste2002 (148), Saugus, California, USA Aug 19, 2009 Tap at Tempe. Pours a clear copper color with a small tan head. Aroma is of peated malt, caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is malty, caramel, honey, light smokiness from the peated malt. Nice beer. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Aug 1, 2009 Bottle. Copper-amber with a thin head. Light sweet malt scent. Thicker body. Tinge of metallic. Scotch-Amber malt flavour. Slight peat. TimE (1300), Tokyo, Japan Jul 30, 2009 Copper color. Very dry, peaty nose. Mouth is very malty, with a touch of whisky and peat. Hops are almost unnoticeable. Dry peaty finish. WeeHeavySD (2932), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jul 18, 2009 12oz I’ve had hanging around for a while needed to be drunk. Pours orange copper with a nice tan head. Nose is sweet and eh. Taste is pretty damn crappy. travita (1851), Frisco, Texas, USA Jul 12, 2009 Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. The look is clear, copper colored, and has a white head. The smell is caramel, sweet, honey, florals, and a touch off. The taste is sweet, caramel, malts, and hops. beerbill (1917), Laurel, New York, USA Jul 3, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with Sparky27. Pours a slightly hazed deep amber with a thin-moderate off-white head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left partial lace. Mild aroma of malt and brown sugar. The flavor has more going on than the aroma with malt, cherries, molasses and perhaps a touch of smoke. Light-medium bitterness at the finish. AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA Jun 27, 2009 Pours decent reddish copper with a thin cream colored head. Nose is a bit off, with bready malt and some sugars. The flavor is a bit better, but not enough for a 7. Smooth finish with a touch of grain.
