Poured a great head that slowly fizzled away. Decent taste, well balanced with malty after taste. Goes down smooth and good with food (chicken). Pretty good bitter. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Aromas of caramel malts, some dough, and a touch of smoke. Flavor is quite earthy, some smoke, caramel, roasted malts, and light floral hops also a touch of toffee on the finish.. Balanced pretty well and very drinkable. Would be a fair session, but hardly a kiltlifter! eaglefan538 (2363), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2006 Only had this one once in Flagstaff and didn’t return to it. Not a bad beer, but nothing that really grabbed my attention to return when given quite a few others on the board. Do remember the sweet (perhaps caramel) undertones and a nice amber ale appearance. sandygoonie (27), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 12, 2006 Caramelly aroma; a little like a dunkelweiss. Something’s a little off in the nose, but not bad. Doughy. Slightly hazy amber. Large off-white head that mostly diminshes but leaves a layer of head. Not much lace. Some visible carbonation. Initial mouthfeel is what I expected; somewhat doughy and malty. Second sip brings on some alcohol. It’s a bit of a misnomer that a 6% brew would "lift a kilt". Solid brew. I’m enjoying it. Pretty well balanced. The maltiness has some sweetness associated with it. A good brew. mbeem (104), New Hope, Alabama, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | May 11, 2006 A decent drinker. Smooth and malty with some roasted notes and mild hop presence. Would probably go good with food and is definitely light enough that one could have several and not feel weighted down. azmtnbiker (20), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 1, 2006 On tap at Old Chicago in Tempe, AZ. Aroma is very faint. Light, mildly roasted caramel/cereal aroma that is not overly potent. Transparent copper color with frothy enough white head and nice lacing. Starts toasted/roasted, turning a bit metallic with more toastiness and a bit of sweet caramel. Finishes creamy, malty, and smooth with minute hop bitterness. Decent for the style, unfortunately the style sucks
