that said, I enjoyed it, but thought it was pretty basic. Not as much flavor as I’d like, but it was good. MaltOMeal (652), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

Pours a clear, dark, iced-tea, golden brown with a slight off-white head. The nose of sweet caramel and lightly peaty malt. Light-bodied and slick with a mildly prickly finish. The flavor follows the nose with a subtle peaty and caramel malt blend. A solid Scottish ale. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pours a copper color with a short lived whitish head. Smell is rich, leathery, and lightly smoky. Taste is watery, but pleasant with light smokiness and dry malt. Bit watery mouthfeel and lightly crisp carbonation. Flavor is nice but light. Nice beer. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, light brown body with a thin, bubbly head.
Smell: Meager caramel-minded maltiness with a small waft of smoke and fruit note.
Taste: Mild dark caramel malt character with a pinch of earthy brown sugar. Very slight smokiness. Hint of fruit. Light, inexpressive hops. Overall, a bit lacking flavorwise.
Mouthfeel: It’s downright light-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Thanks, but no thanks. This is unacceptably bland! The things that pass for an "award-winning flagship ale" these days. Yeesh.
