Lots of fast-rising bubbles. Thick and sweetish malt and caramel aroma. Flavor is mostly the same, with a bit of hop bitterness in the middle. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, but kind of sticky. Finish is malty, and not too long. Not out of this world, but smooth, simple, and pretty tasty with a burger. jefcon (1000), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 16, 2008 Sweet and smoky aromas, for sure. The biggest flaw in this beer is the disappearing finish. Aside from that, it has a sweet, hoppy bite that lends a lot of complexity to the front end of the beer. Sticky and malty, wet pinecones fading into a cotton candy sweetness, and then nothing at all. Still, you have to commend the folks at Four Peaks for making a scottish ale in the middle of the effing desert. Ughsmash (4035), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 9, 2008 Thanks to Bill for this bottle! Poured mostly clear golden-caramel with a tall, creamy cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up some tart lemon and detergenty notes upfront with softer, lightly-smoked caramel and medium-skinned fruits beneath.. dry, dusty yeast overtones. The flavor was about the same.. sweet, tacky caramel, lighter fruits, and pale malts at the core with dusty, dry notes around. Dry and medium-bodied on the palate with a short finish.. nothing bad here, but nothing remarkable. highibus (432), Mill Creek, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2008 Pours a deep amber color with decent head. Slightly sweet aroma. Flavor is nice and malty with residual sweetness and good balance. A decent beer. BelgianBeerGal (1293), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Nice clear copper colour with a large, foamy tan head. Settled without lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel with some hops in the background. Nice roasted malt flavour with a little hop in the finish. Might finish a bit metallic but nice brew. puzzl (2621), New York, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Bottled. Surprisingly hoppy up front, way out of character for the style, with harsh, metallic notes dominating the aroma. Malts are a little better in the flavor, but not by much. This beer sucks. rustychiles (1055), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 18, 2008 Pours a reddish brown with a small white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel and malt. Tastes of caramel, toffee, fruit, malted barley, and maybe a touch of smoky peat if you try really hard to taste it. Pretty decent local brew, nothing mind shattering but this is still pretty good.
