| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 17, 2005 This must be on nitrogen dispension because the creamy brown head on this beer really lingers and won’t go away. The beer is a pitch black color. The aroma has notes of chocolate with a bit of butter (perhaps a hint of diacetyl). I also get notes of lightly roasted coffee, though with time the buttery diacetyl notes becomes more evident, but not so much that it becomes distracting. The taste is incredibly smooth and creamy with a solid chocolate character to it. The two characteristics are reminiscent of a chocolate malt shake. The finish has notes of chocolate malt and a bit of alcohol to it. This is not a bad beer, the diacetyl is faintly noticeable in the taste, but adds to the dimensions of this beer. This is quite quaffable, and could probably get me in trouble if I drank too many. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 31, 2005 tap at brewpub on nitro (i hate nitro!!!)-pours black with a foamy nitro tan head. aroma of chocolate, roast, char and a little anise. flavors exibit the chocolate and the char character very well. body is actually pretty good for a nitro pour. The dryness from the char note exibits more a dry stout than an oatmeal. The body is medium and this stout is fairly easy to drink. Think Guiness with more to it and thats what you get here. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 17, 2005 Black in color. Have had a few not many stouts but this one was like drinking cold coffee. Roated coffee flavor and good lacing. Kind of watered down thought it woud be more rich in flavor. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 15, 2005 I was looking foward to this at Four Peaks but ended up being a little disapointed.
This stout was black with a great head and lacing and a aroma of roasted coffee and chocolate.
Flavor was roasty, caramel and coffee but was very watery, more like a porter than a good thick stout. Not bad though, very drinkable. rudolf (1775), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 7, 2005 Roasted malt/coffee/chocolate nose w. hints of cherry. Very chocolatey at first then bitter coffee, grape skin, creamy chocolate finish w. just a hint of hops. ghett0yeti (26), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 16, 2005 Once again, don’t really dig the stouts, but had to try it. Pretty good. All of your average stout characteristics. Not really wanting to run back to the brewpub and grab another, but I might grab another if I were there.
