Commercial Description:
A special beer brewed to commemorate Ben Franklin's 300th birthday. This brew emulates the beers of Franklin's day by including distinctly American ingredients, that would have been available in Colonial times. Our version is a well-rounded strong brown ale, around 8% alcohol, which is light bodied and smooth with medium to low hop bitterness.

One of the first few beers I tasted at the Strong beer festival. So my judgement should’nt be to clouded. A nice sweet almost barley-like aroma. Malty, fruit and some plums also. Lightly sweet flavor, a little hint of molasses. well balanced smooth mouthfeel. I thought the alcohol was well hidden. Wish this was a staple.

Dark brown with a thick creamy head and heavy lacing. Mild sweet malty, caramel aroma. Flavor is lightly sweet, creamy caramel, brown suger, nutty and not overly sweet. Alcohol is very well hidden. Light- medium body with a creamy sweet finish. Suited to drinking in quantity.

1/17/06 Had fruit aroma of plums. Also had a sweet brandy aroma. Amber body color with a lasting head. Quite abit of lacing. Mild to medium sweet fruit flavor along with some noticable alcohol. Body of beer was little thin the the sweetness and alcohol flavors were enough for me anyway. Smooth easy sipping brew.
