graham515 (319), Houston, Texas, USA Sep 21, 2008 Pours copper into the glass with a small white head. Virtually no aroma with this beer. Has a pretty nice malt character, but finishes with an odd metallic aftertaste. Not bad for an AB brew
KAggie97 (2024), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Nov 29, 2008 Tap. Pours an average amber with an aroma of buttered malt tempered with water. Flavor is watery sour cotton candy. Average mouthfeel. Call the hounds and put this one out of its misery. troyc (1022), Lubbock, Texas, USA Nov 17, 2008 (Tap) Pours a reddish amber color with a small white head. Sweet caramel aroma. A very sweet tasting beer. Some hops are evident in here, but not enough to balance out the sweetness. Metallic finish. The one up-side was the body, which was better than I expected. It was worth the try, but not something I’ll ever be ordering again. KUEric (579), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Sep 29, 2008 On tap in Winston-Salem, NC. A nice, average amber. Decently balanced between caramel malts and light hop flavors. Nothing special but better than I was expecting. I’d reccommend if you are in a Fox & Hounds (as other than Abq location I havent seen an overly strong beer list) cheapdark (1655), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 21, 2008 Hey, cool. a red unexpected ale but its really kind of pale yellow from the looks. Free 6 oz sample at the Fox & Hound in North Pgh. Rather interesting, nice mild hop bite. Fun, some unexpected hay. Easy to enjoy, likable and not over the top. Qyuite interesting, glad to have had the chance to taste this. Different yet enjoyable. Good finish which is not too bitter yet bitter enough to let you know it is a little hoppy. Leaning away from pale lager fer sure.
