Bottle from Binny’s Beverage Depot in Orland Park, IL. It poured a slightly hazed light amber/orange body with a decent head that didn’t want to visit for long. It has a bready malt aroma with a hint of soured tangerines. Grainy, sweet flavor with a touch of caramel and a very light hop bitterness. Dry finish. Not worth repeating.

Dark amber color with a taller light taupe head. Mostly grainy aroma. Some caramel, toffee, and earthy hops also in the nose. Lightly toasted grain flavors predominate. Smooth feel. Mild caramel sweetness and some dark corn syrup. Fairly dry finish with just a bit of toasted white bread sweetness in the linger. Seems more English than Celtic.

FYI: Little did I know that Fox DeLuxe is a revival of an old Chicago brand, made by the peter Fox Brewing Co. from 1933 to 1955. Here I thought it was because the guy was from Kane County, along the Fox River.
12 oz. bottle. Not much info on this yet, just this is a virtual brewer, the guy who helped bring Hoppin Frog to Chicago. There were cases of it at Sam’s in Downer’s, yet I’m the first rater. And it’s Rating #1550.
Pours light amber color with some haze in the center, slightly sudsy head. Clean, malty beer smell, not much detail beyond that. Nice taste, though. Seems close to all-grain, with light nuttiness and caramel roast. Not much alcohol noticed. Probably standard noble or English hops sparingly used to keep the malt taste in front. Carbonation lends just the right texture for an enjoyable mouthfeel. Recognizably a Sand Creek beer, but nicely made. Currently available in the "build-a-6-pack" rack.

I liked this a bit more than the rest of the earlier reviewers. Attractive hazy golden pour. The nose is mainly caramel malt sweetness and bread dough. The flavor is a moderately creamy texture melange of dough, caramel/toffee malt, light earthy hop bitterness. Very drinkable. Thanks Cornfield!

12oz bottle 2/6/09 (Binny’s Naperville)-Pours a hazy yellowish/golden with a small tight white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and a bit of dough. Taste of malt, hops, caramel, and dough. This medium bodied brew is not nearly as bad as people are rating it IMO. Nice brew.

Pours a murky orange/brown with a medium/small foamy white froth. Aroma of wheat, honey, almonds and wet paper. Flavor follows... wet paper with some toasted almond honey sweetness. Lots of residual sugars... too sugary sweet without purpose.

Bottle thanks to 17thfloor. Semi hazy light amber with small to medium, creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet citrus and caramel with a little grain and cardboard. Flavor is sweet grapfruit like malt, yeast, caramel, chalky, some bitterness. Medium body with large bubbled carbonation. Haven’t had a chalky beer in quite a while, ah the memories.
