Svesse (1877), Hässelby, Sweden Oct 13, 2008 (Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Golden colour with huge, lasting, foamy, off-white head. Some sediment in the bottle. Fruity nose with notes of dried apricots, mandarin and peaches. Fruity taste with apricots, mandarin, smooth biscuity malts and a dry, grassy, fairly short finish with floral hops. Rather thin body. Nice and refreshing. In short: apricots. leaparsons (4058), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Golden with a small white head. Aromas are fresh and floral with citrus. Grapefruit bitterness and sourness with yeast. Lightly salty with decent hops. Flavours are peach, apricot and lemon with some citrus sourness. Biscuit malts with yeast and some cream. Quite resinous in its fruitiness. Decent. haddonsman (1205), Derby, Derbyshire, England Aug 7, 2008 Bottled from the Real Ale Bottle Shop Place near Wells etc. Least interesting point: it was from gyle 080502A-1. Most interesting point(s) - looks good, smells crisp, tastes fresh, as keen as a tightrope walker’s pump on the wire. In five words? Great golden globs of hops. In four words? Oranges mixed with digestives. In three words? Impressive balanced ale. In two words? Lemon biscuits. In one word? Serendipity. In one character? !
