Dark copper color with a deep rudy hue when held to the light. Stewed dark fruit with dark toffee and wild honey. Quite sweet which adds the thickness of fell. More fruit in the flavors, that tend to be the over ripe variety. In some ways it works in others it seems to be serching.

On tap at F.R. Appleton. Poured a clear, very deep garnet with about zero head retention. Toasty dark malts (plums, berries and others) and alcohol in the nose. Sweetness was a bit high for my tastes... I got elderberry and something I’ll call molass-o-honey... and there was some strong not-well-checked alcohol at the roof and finish. The sweetness became mildly cloying as this warmed, and the balance just seemed off. Medium-bodied with low-ish carbonation. I’ll give it a "mediocre".

Pours deep reddish with minimal head. Aromas of fruit, toffee, and slight hops. Finishes malty, hoppy, and fruity.

Fresh, hoppy, molasses aroma. Dark red in color with virtually no head. Flat coming out of the bottle led me to believe the seal of the cap had been compromised. Plum flavor. Somewhat flat although perhaps not as much as would be expected from the pour. Some off notes in aftertaste. Some bitterness; not too bad. Probably real good, if not flat.
