MIBRomeo (1889), Wisconsin, USA Aug 10, 2008 light copper pour nice white head w/ great lace. light grain aroma again not much here. Avg pal. Very clean flavor some light wheats and a hint of honey then... CARDBOARD... like a stale honeweiss. Not very good. esjaygee (808), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jul 7, 2008 On tap at Fratellos Oshkosh. Golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of corn, honey and mild caramel. Taste oh honey, sweet malt and light corn. A bit astringent on the finish and dull throughout. phishpond417 (1456), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 1, 2008 While the aroma of honey was prevalent, the taste was a little different. It had a touch of sweetness with a lightly malted, light wheat flavor. This was ok. IlanMan (571), Winona, Minnesota, USA May 16, 2008 This was one of the better Fox River brews. Aroma was of sweet honey and wheat. Flavor was the same but smooth and sweet. There did not appear to be any off flavors in the brew. Was not bad but would not purchase again. Skyview (2901), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Dec 27, 2007 On draught at both brewpub/brewery locations (Appleton and Oshkosh).
Rating base on Appleton version - Pours a clear light copper amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates clean with no ring or lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt and some citrus hops. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with a semi-sweet caramel flavor with a touch of butter and citrus zest. Finish has a light caramel malt aftertaste and then clean cut after the finish. The Oshkosh version retains head a little longer and has a white ring. Flavor has a more chalky/powdery malt flavor and aftertaste. Not much honey flavor in this brew at both locations.
