yespr (5521), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 15, 2008 33 cL bottle. Pours clear and pale/golden yellow with a slowly diminishing white head. Mild malt aroma with a note of bitterhops. Medium sweet malt and corn flavour. Quite smooth. Shows a mild bitterness into the finish yet the beer remains smoothly medium sweet malt flavoured. Nice one.
TrefwoordPunk (356), Leiden, Netherlands Jul 15, 2008 Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear pale golden with a small and fading white head and a malty, maybe fishy aroma. The taste is malty and a tad sweet, but not too much. It’s really mild, I would have liked more of a "bite". kolschbeer (2), , Leicestershire, England does not count Jul 5, 2008 No nasty aftertaste.
Not too strong but with a nice flavor.
This beer you could drink all night, i have. azlondon (461), Greater London, England Jun 26, 2008 Updated: Jun 27, 2008My first ever Kölsch:
Appearance: Pale yellow, fizzy, but no proper head.
Aroma: A bit of malt, fruity, odd.
Taste: Hint of malt, fruit, not me.
Info: 500ml bottle, 30/10-2005, 42/300, 25/500 Maria (3788), Thisted, Denmark Jun 14, 2008 The color is light golden and the head is nice and white. The aroma has malty and floral notes. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of flower, light fruit and a slightly dry citrus. It’s mild, smooth and quite enjoyable. bhensonb (2713), Woodland, California, USA May 31, 2008 330 ml. bottle from the Hauptbahnhof in Aachen. Gold color with a frothy two finger white head. Light grass/citrus aroma. Starts bitter with a follow on of pale malt. Near medium body with light, prickly carbonation. Missing the fresh fruitiness of other kölsch beers I really enjoyed in Aachen. Nice bitter finish.
