Courtesy of Ben at the Beer Depot. Pours mahogany with frothy tan head. Aroma and flavor very muted sweet malt. Some nuttiness in the flavor. Finishes very dry.

bottled; incredibly malty, hints of chocolate, raisins, nuts. A bit lacking in the hops depertmant, reminds me more of a dunkel than an altbier,

Tap, in Dusseldorf Rich malty Alt. Hints of dark raisin like fruit, but not overly asserted. A little hop bitterness to balandce. No hop flavor or aroma to speak of. Usual dark amber Alt color under a white head. Thick body, this is not a thin beer.

Nice dark orangeish brown color. Great head. Medium malt nose, semi hoppy with a good balalnce between the malt and hops. Semi bitter could use a few more hops for this style. This cold have been light affected. But overall was a great beer.

Bottle. Sweetish, brown sugar aroma. Clear, dark brown colour. Big, stable, rocky head. Malty and roasted flavour. Astringent, tannin-like aftertaste.

Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Aroma is chocolate with a tart fruitiness. Pours a very dark orangish-brown with slight transparency and a small tan head. Lots of caramel in the flavor with a touch of chocolate. Nuttiness in the finish. The fruity tartness is pretty light, lingers in the background, and seems to throw things a little off even if it is light. The slight tartness just doesn’t work for me when combined with the other flavors.

Light hoppy nose, some underlying malts. Dark brown body, small off-white head. Light malty flavor, followed by some hoppyness.
