Aroma is sweet caramel, malts and hops. Flavour is malty and hops, with a nice bitter finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Slight carbonation. Pretty damned good. SledgeJr (2966), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 29, 2004 On tap at the Crescent Moon Alehouse. Pours a deep amber, not brown. Rapidly diminishing head. Only a subtle aroma of nutty german lager. Body is far too light for my taste with not enough hops. Somewhat of a big disappointment I would say. This was the "Pint Nite" beer today, so it was served with a really cool blue cobalt pint glass which had gold Frankenheim logo print on it declaring this the be a brown lager. Too bad the beer wasn’t as good as the glass. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2004 Apple and cinnamon to the nose, long lasting off-white head with good lacing, hoppy with toasted caramel flavors, but a strange taste at the end that I cannot identify- earthy or leathery. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 20, 2004 OK beer. Pretty dry finish, hoppier than I expected. A bit of a "burnt malt" aftetaste, which I didn’t particularly care for. Overall, not bad, but, I wouldn’t buy it again. mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
