It has a nutty taste as described in other reviews with a strange yeast twinge to it. It is described as a German brown ale and I think it covers the category well. I would recommend serving this one cold... try it both ways and you will see (or taste) what I mean. wunderbier (1267), Tampere, Finland

Nutty, fruity aroma and flavor. Smooth, watery, nutty finish with lively carbonation. Unclean fruity acidity. The bottom line is: this is a lot like an English pale ale and brown ale mixed together. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2003 Malty and delectable, warms up really well without a lot of sugaryness - almost zero hop action at the finish - looks good - caramel dimished in favor of good clean brown sugar components. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 20, 2003 Nice, clean light copper appearance - sparkles - very distinguished looking. Has a nice off-white head with a good bit of lacing. Very faint earthy aroma - had to sniff real hard to capture it! Has a bit of a bitter bite to the smooth bitterness with some underlying malt ones. Alt is a style I cannot grasp an appreciation of - but this is the best of the few that I have had - am determined to one day enjoy them! dhurtubise (568), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 2, 2003 Solid brown with no head. Slight aroma of sweet maltyness. Taste is clean and crispy sweet. Taste of sweet malt and grains, yeast like notes, but very light. Light body feel, a small malty sweet tang with a slight hop presence. Everything about this beer speaks drinkable. Very clean and malty sweet. Not bad at all.
