Somewhat flabby Altbier with not much bitterness to recommend it. On tap at the Frankenheim pub in Dusseldorf. Poured a classic copper-brown with thin off-white head. Malty, sourdough nose. Flavor was lightly sweet, quite malty, going into a bready sourness, very thin layer of bitterness. Refreshing but I would have preferred a hoppier kick.

(cleaning out my beer bottle collection as pictured in my profile and utilizing ratebeer.com) As I recall, this was a nice brown ale.

Dark amber with medium off white head. Sweet aroma with caramel and toasted malt. Sweet flavor with brewing cereal, caramel bread and hoppy notes. Ends sweet and light bitter.

Bottle. [thank you, Yespr]
Pours a clear brown caramel colour. A big fizzy off-white head on top. Aroma is lightly sweet with a metallic edge. A little thin and watery Flavour has burnt caramel, still som light metallic off-flavours, weakly tart and some sweet doughy rye bread character. Far too thin and a pity with the metal.

50 cL bottle, trade with DerDobbelbock. Pours clear and copper with a dense off-white head. Light spiced and malty aroma. Flavour is acidic and bitter with a light malty note. Light roasted note into the finish. Nice and bitter malty brew with a light spice note - classic alt.

The bottle looks good, only the bird is a little bit strange. The beer in the glass is okay. Tastes mild, not too dry, a little bit fruity, too. Good beer!

Bottle. Moderate malty, light sweet, bread. Large creamy off-white head, dark red body. Moderate bitter, medium duration. Dry, medium body, soft carbonation, moderate astringent finish. There are better Alt’s.

from crackedkettle.com/ - clear ruby-brown colour, chaotic pale beige foam and a nice lace; some earthy notes, medium-bodied and slightly bitter; long earthy and nutty finish - acceptable
